Joerg Hipp, Ph.D.

Chief Translational Science Officer

Joerg Hipp, PhD is expected to serve as Chief Translational Science Officer of New Oak Hill Bio and has served as Oak Hill Bio’s Chief Translational Science Officer since September 2026. Prior to joining Oak Hill Bio, Dr. Hipp served as Biomarker and Experimental Medicine Leader and the Head of NMD/NDD and Electrophysiology Biomarkers Group at F. Hoffmann-La Roche. He has more than 10 years of experience in drug development for neurodevelopmental disorders including ASD, Down syndrome, Rett syndrome, Angelman syndrome, Dup15q syndrome, and Fragile-X syndrome, spanning discovery to late stage, and across various therapeutic modalities. Over the past decade, Dr. Hipp was part of the rugonersen team is the first author of the rugonersen Phase 1 publication in Nature Medicine. Dr. Hipp has a M.S. in physics from University of Innsbruck, Austria and a PhD in neuroscience from ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He began his career in academia as a neuroscientist at Universities of Hamburg and Tübingen, Germany, where he is known for his work on human electrophysiology (EEG, MEG).
